We went away for a bit of a family mini-vacation, belated birthday celebration, and last hurrah before I return to work very soon. We headed up to Whistler and had a wonderful time. Everly got to play in the snow, and Jason got to go skiing. We returned home feeling extremely relaxed. Poor Jason missed seeing Everly take many more steps, it seemed every time he was in a different room she would go, once he came back she would stop.
I am loving the stage Everly is at with being so independent and wanting to feed herself. She loves food with lots of flavour. Give her sometime spicy, or a sour lemon and she is happ as can be. She has recently become a huge fan of getting to look in mirrors and play around mirrors, its so funny watching her as she tries to figure out what is going on.
We had a our first Christmas dinner of the season, held at our church. Its the big kick off to Christmas. Jason was part of the duo who helped host the evening. We all had a wonderful time, feasted on an incredible meal, enjoyed the entertainment for the evening, and had a wonderful time socializing with everyone. Everly was a trooper staying up late. She at one point had everyone’s attention when she was trying to walk between some of the people she knows and loves.
We wrapped up the weekend with church in the morning. I called in back up to help figure out what was going on with the lights on our Christmas tree, half of them would not light up. My family came over in the afternoon to help out. It has kind of become tradition to decorate the tree at our home together. We enjoyed lots of snacks that remind us of Christmas together, and even put on some classic Disney Christmas movies. Everly got to open a gift already. We had bought her a Fisher-Price nativity before she was even born. She is already loving playing with it. Now to figure out how to prevent her from taking all the ornaments off the tree? So glad we bought some plastic ornaments for this year.
