Fall is almost here! Which means it’s time to go apple picking here. As soon as we saw that the honeycrisp apples were ready in the orchard and that the cidar was on the shelves over at Taves Family Farms, we knew we needed to go out there right away. This has become an annual tradition that we all look forward to. It was time to go apple picking!
THE KIDS ARE GROWING UP
It’s amazing to have so many photos to look back on of the girls. The kids are growing up so fast. We first started going to Taves when Evie was not yet 2! Now 5 years later, I am thankful that we’ve captured so many memories and that this has become something we all look forward to. Sure getting out of the house can be a bit chaotic, especially when we’re running on little to no sleep. It’s always worth it in the long run.
Jason and I got to talking on the way home about how we hope and pray that we’ll be able to continue this tradition for a long time. We’ve started taking a selfie of the two of us in the apple orchard for the past few years. I can only imagine a photo way down the road where we both have much more grey or white hair on our heads and a whole lot more wrinkles. You know what, I am so looking forward to it!
NOW, WHAT TO DO WITH ALL THE APPLES
We left with two bags of honeycrisp apples. Now, what to do with all the apples? I’m debatings attempting apple sauce. Haven’t done that since home ec class. If you’ve never had a honeycrisp before you need to try one! They’re great for eating, baking and so much more. With Fall being in just over a week, I think a pie is going to be a must! Plus the girls keep asking if we can bake something.
Next up… pumpkin patch season!
