After our trip to New York, we realized that bagels back home are not the same! We got the most amazing bagel while there. What was even more unique about it was that it was a rainbow bagel. We knew that our girls would love this and it made us wonder if we could find anything like it back at home.
We presented our quest to everyone over on Instagram and right away we had two main suggestions, one of which was not far from home; Rosemary Rocksalt.
My biggest advice to you is to either 1) go early in the morning or 2) call in ahead of time and reserve the bagels you hope to get and take home. Our first attempt at getting the feature bagel did not go well. We had a bit of a hiccup with a not so positive experience. Fortunately for us, Rosemary Rocksalt made some magic happen and we went back the next morning to a completely opposite experience.
After having bagels from Rosemary Rocksalt, we can’t go back to bagels and cream cheese for the grocery store. It is not the same! There is something special about these Montreal-style bagels. You are going to want to stock up on bagels for at home and enjoy a treat while there.
Besides bringing home some classic plain cream cheese and a dozen mixed bagels, we did enjoy some while there. My husband went for the Whistler breakfast bagel on a rosemary and rocksalt bagel. It had smoked meat, egg, cheddar, green pepper, tomato, lettuce, red onion, cream cheese. If you’re looking for something to fill your tummy, this is it!
The girls and I kept it very simple with a rainbow bagel toasted and covered in classic cream cheese. It reminded me so much of the bagel I enjoyed in New York. The girls were over the moon about having something so colourful and tasty.
HAVE YOU HAD A RAINBOW BAGEL?
