The most wonderful time of the year is right around the corner. It’s our favourite holiday season and yes, we know it may feel a bit early to be sharing, but tickets are already available to attend the 8th annual Vancouver Christmas Market. The market is happening November 22 to December 24, 2017. This is one event that we have not missed each Christmas.
There is just something about the music playing and all the smells in the air. It’s the perfect place to go if you love trying different foods or you just want to enjoy a nice hot apple cider or mulled wine. It’s a fantastic way to kick of Christmas and enjoy the wonder of the season.

SEE THE CHARM OF VANCOUVER’S YULETIDE CELEBRATION
Included in this year’s usual highlights will also be Canada’s first-ever Walk-In Christmas Tree. There will be a 30ft tall tree covered with 36,000 twinkling lights that guests to the market can enter to experience a spectacular light display. It will be the perfect little photo opportunity.
The Christmas Pyramid is returning this year, but will be even taller with the addition of a brand new ‘Flying Stage’ perched 10ft high above the market. Here guests will discover a lively line-up of festive entertainment daily. There will be a wide range of musical talent performing all sorts of seasonal favourites that span every genre, from jazz, and classical, to gospel. There will be a little something to get everyone in the holiday spirit.
Be sure to treat yourself to something from the market’s array of mouth-watering delectables. The Glühwein (a hot-spiced mulled wine) and hot apple cider are musts to enjoy. Bratwurst is also always at the top of our list. This year we are adding Spätzle and Schnitzel to our list of must try items, as well as Strudels. It seems this year we are trying all the items that start with “s”. Plus, if you are going with little ones the waffles are always a hit and a great item to share.
Dress warmly and if needed you can warm up in the Alpine Haus tent. Rain or shine the market is spectacular to visit. Wander throughout the pathways of the market and look at what each hut has to offer. We always go home with a new Christmas ornament to add to our tree. Before the end of your visit to the market, go for a ride on the Christmas Carousel.
