I was such a little kid at heart last night when it started to snow. I was so excited that I actually went outside with sandals on instead of snow boots so that I could get a couple of photos. It was so beautiful that I seriously considered waking up Evie so that we could grab warm blankets and bundle up and just watch the snow fall for a few minutes… but I didn’t as I did not feel like dealing with the wrath of a grumpy toddler in the morning.
You better believe I pulled an Anna from Frozen this morning – “The sky is awake, so I’m awake!” and made Jason get up early despite his playing hockey last night and wanting to sleep in. We we got Evie up we opened up the curtains in her room wide so she could see outside. We always ask her what the weather is like and she loudly proclaimed “SNOW MAMA!” when she looked outside. We had breakfast, and got bundled up and headed outside. I am so thankful that we have proper snow gear for days like this. I love the snow so much, and hate the cold so it is a must to have boots that fit and keep us warm. Evie’s snowsuit is actually a hand me down from my older sister, it was her daughter’s. Eveie wore it last year too and I am thrilled that it still fits because it is nice and cozy and easy to put on her.
We also pulled out the little sled we got for free off of the childrens swap group last year. Evie was cheering her Daddy on to pull her faster around the yard. “Go Dadda! Go!” It seems this little girl has a love for speed like her Dad, and love for snow like her Mom.
Fun was definitely had this morning, and I am sad to see the snow already melting. I am thankful that we enjoyed it while we could first thing this morning. Now we are getting ready for our first Christmas dinner of the Christmas season, it is being held at our church. I can’t wait to see everyone all dressed up, to enjoy some music and entertainment, hand out Christmas cards, and of course eat some turkey dinner. I currently have “monster mash” on the stove boiling for bringing along.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone… maybe we will get some more snow soon! Did anyone else go outside and play in the snow?
Follow along over at Facebook, and Instagram to see what we get up, and stay more up to date with Discovering Parenthood. We’d love to have you over there too.

It is so crazy cold right now. I am surviving with a hot water bottle. I so wish I lived closer to the sea walls on days like that. Would have loved to have seen what it was like down there.
