I didn’t fully believe that we were actually going to get any snow. Sure, it has snowed in February before. I just didn’t want to get my hopes up or the girls, but I could smell it in the air. The girls really wanted it to snow so that they could play, sled, make snowballs, and so much more. It’s why we went on a snow search back in December.
Thankfully this time the weather people were not wrong. We had three times the snowfall in three days, compared to what we would get in a month! It also wasn’t the usual wet, heavy snow that we tend to get. This time it was light and fluffy, which meant shoveling wasn’t too bad.
The girl’s excitement over a good snowfall is part of why I love snow days. As a kid, I always looked forward to watching the snow fall. Often I would know it was happening and just suddenly wake up and look out my window in the middle of the night to see the snow falling down. Call me Lorelai Gilmore I guess. I can smell snow in the air.
While it was back to school and work, as usual, today, it sure was nice to finally have winter arrive where we live.
