This weekend we hosted a little “Sip and See” for family and friends to come and meet Addie. When Everly was born things were a bit crazy, and overwhelming with people stopping by (some without notice) to see her. This time round we did not want that. We wanted to almost be hermit like and just enjoy the newborn stage as a family of 4. We decided that doing some sort of little get together would be a great way to host everyone, and give them the opportunity to pop in and meet our youngest daughter.
We rented out the club house in our complex, which made it even more relaxing for us since we did not have to worry about making sure our home is spotless. It was so nice to just bring all of the food and beverages over, and set up. My husband very kindly made multiple trips over from our house to the club house during the girls nap time. I then ran over, after he did all the heavy lifting, to set up the food table and put up some decorations. The morning of, I had Evie paint some paper with a dark pink and I then wrote out Adaiah across it. This was a great way to have Evie be involved since she kept asking if she could help, and it added a special touch.
I keep the food very simple by getting fruit and veggie platters, and then I baked up sugar cookies, vanilla cupcakes, and rice krispy square treats. I also put out a bowl of popcorn. For drinks we had vanilla macadamia nut coffee, and several hot chocolates to pick from, as well as some pop and sparkling juices. Some how I ended up with a white colour scheme, with hints of pink. I had bought flowers but forgot to bring them over, so I am now enjoying those in my home.
My husband put together a little slide show to play in the background that contained photos during my pregnancy with Addie, our maternity photos, delivery, and newborn photos. I cannot believe how many photos we already have of this little girl. We brought over Evie’s toy castle for her and any other kiddos who came to get to play with. Of course the balloons were a big hit with the kids, at one point they were being run around the inside of the building, and bopped in all sorts of directions. Things did come to a crazy end, with Evie being sick. Poor little girl knew to come to mommy because she was not feeling well, but we both ended up needing new outfits. We sure know how to end things on a crazy note.
Below are some images from the sip and see. We are so thankful for those who were able to pop in, family and friends, and we are hoping to catch up with those who could not make it out. It is so special to us to know how much our girls are loved by those around them.

Thank you so much for including us, we wouldn’t have missed it for the world! I love how Sofia and Evie (and now Addie) will grow up together, close with their mama’s being friends.

awe omg what a great idea to have a sip and see!! I have never heard of that before but such a great way to help celebrate your new addition. Wish I had something like this for my second. And the place looked like it was decorated beautifully <3

I’ve never heard of a Sip and See. What a wonderful idea! Especially in place of a shower for a second, third or fourth baby; my baby will be my 4th daughter so I really don’t need much for her.
