When did your children start to help around the house or do chores? What sorts of things did they help with?
Evie is 16 months old but she took an interest in helping load and unload the dishwasher several months back. If unloading she would hand us the items from it one piece at a time or we would guide her to where things go so she could put them in their place.
Most recently she has shown interest in helping with putting the clothing into the washing machine when we need to do a load of laundry. If she sees the hamper she wants to be right there helping by taking one piece at a time and putting it in the washing machine.
Sure it may just be fun and games right now. It is nice to see her interest in what we are doing and her willingness to try and help.
Now if only she would help put her toys away that are spread all over the living room.
Calvin was probably the same age when he started helping with the dishwasher and laundry. It’s so fun!
